Spiritual Practices from FGC participants

At the beginning of our interest group, Friends were asked to state their name, their monthly and yearly meeting, and "to name a spiritual practice or discipline that brings you strength and/or joy." These are my notes on the responses.

Maybe you will recognize some of your own spiritual practice. Maybe something will call to you to try it. Maybe some will sound foreign to you. Remember this is not a to-do list. If something specifically irritates you, try to think of some way that it could be a spiritual practice for someone else.

Ah, yes. This reminds me that hearing so many people speak of singing or listening to music as a spiritual practice, was part of what helped me trust the ministry I was given to sing there.

Thanks, Lisa

I'm so glad for you and all of us, Lisa.

One of the things that has already been helpful to me is to remember that having grace before meals is a spiritual practice. When so often it seems like one more thing I inflict on my children.
