What I'm Reading Now - Twelfth Month 2008
Through Flaming Sword: the life and legacy of George Fox by Arthur O. Roberts (written in 1959, republished by Barclay Press in 2008)
“Finding God in the Redemptive Fellowship” (a pamphlet) by D. Elton Trueblood (This was passed from Friend to Friend to my grateful hands.)
The Story We Find Ourselves In: Further Adventures of a New Kind of Christian, Book 2 by Brian McLaren (Another selection forwarded by The Ooze)
The Penderwicks: A Summer Tale of Four Sisters, Two Rabbits, and a Very Interesting Boy by Jeanne Birdsall (This is the kind of story I loved as a kid, but this one wasn’t published until 2005. I still loved it in 2008.)
Soul Graffiti: Making a Life in the Way of Jesus by Mark Scandrette (I finally finished it. It was worth going back to.)
The Ordinary Radicals (a movie) directed by Jamie Moffett, featuring Shane Claiborne, Chris Haw, Becky Garrison, Tony Campolo, Zack Exaley, Sr. Margaret McKenna and Brian McLaren (We haven’t watched this yet, but it’s on the list.)
Further reviews to come.
Also, I am frequently listening very patiently and proudly to a six year old reading Dr. Seuss and Berenstein Bears books out loud. It's so amazing to watch him learn to read, step by step.
