Convergent Tea Party?
By the way, I’m going up to Boston after FWCC on March 18.
I’m planning to attend the Weed Lecture at Beacon Hill Friends House.
This is where I really had to let the wind blow through.
How cool is it that the weekend that I was already planning to go to New England, the annual Weed Lecture is happening, and Tom Gates (author of the Pendle Hill Pamphlet Members One of Another, see here for Liz Opp’s posts about it) is speaking?
Did you know it’s only about an hour from Providence to Boston on the commuter train?
Some Friends I knew I wanted to see are going to be in town. More may be coming in for the Lecture. Others may be able to come up from Providence too.
I keep saying I don’t think God has life planned out for us, but it’s sure nice when synchronicity happens.
Is anyone else interested in having dinner together on that Sunday night?
I’ve never been to Boston before, so I am open to suggestions of where to eat and what to see.

I'd love to be there but there's no synchronicity in my life these days. Have fun, be faithful, and don't let the attention keep you from saying hard things when necessary.
Good point Martin. Hope the sun comes out for you soon.
Well, as you already know, Robin, I am planning to make the trip! I've been too busy to take the time to share that news (by email, by a blog post, whatever). If fFriends will have me, I'd love to join the tea/pizza/dinner party after the Weed Lecture! Maybe I can even round up some chocolate chip cookies... but not likely for hundreds of people!
I still have logistics to work out: transportation from NJ to Boston (probably train); and then from Cambridge to BHFM where I'll be staying with my brother. Ack!
Anyone know if we need to register in any formal way...? I don't see any details for such a thing on the Weed Lecture page.
Blessings,
Liz Opp, The Good Raised Up
I don't believe there's registration required for the Weed Lecture - and I don't think everyone who's going to that will come to dinner with us. That's not really my intention.
There are directions for how to get to BHFH on their website.
I believe there are a couple more bloggers who will come, but I don't want to speak publicly for them. I'm hoping they'll comment here.
Robin and Liz,
I also had been thinking of coming to the Weed Lecture. In the past when I have attended I have just shown up. As for getting to BHFH from Cambridge, the best way might be to take the Red Line to Park Street. Or you can drive and park at the Boston Common Garage. As for where to eat it depends on what kind of food you want and how much you want to spend on it. The folks at BHFH would probably be able to tell you what's available at the bottom of the hill on Charles Street. Beyond that, let's just say that Boston does not lack for places to eat.
I hope to see you March 18.

Hi all,
Another option for meeting after the Weed lecture would be for people to come to my house in Arlington for pizza. It isn't in the most public transportation friendly location but I will probably drive to the lecture anyway so I would be able to provide some transportation.

Will,
Thanks for the invitation. I will try to look up where Arlington is, but I know that I will have to get back to Beacon Hill for the night, so that might affect matters.
Part of me thinks we ought to have something classic for Boston, I don't know what. Another part of me remembers that last summer I decided that take out pizza and home-made chocolate chip cookies were the official foods of convergent Friends.
Robin,
Arlington is not the far suburbs by any stretch but it might not make sense to come out here if you are staying at the BHFH anyway. But do keep me informed of plans as they develop. My email is wt33 at verizon dot net. I look forward to meeting you.

Robin: I will miss being there with you. I am also tickled at how this is coming together! Just like the original Quaker Heritage Day (which I also missed). Let me know if you still want the song lyrics from the Convergent Choir from last summer at Wess's and Emily's.

Hi sweetheart!
Yes, I'll take a copy of those lyrics. Thanks.
And I'm glad you'll be at this year's Quaker Heritage Day!
Friends, if you want to come to QHD in Berkeley on March 3, 2007, you can register now. Information is available through the link above, and on a blog near you sometime next week, I think.
